More about Jean Craciun
Public opinion researcher Jean Craciun predicts Alaskans might not know who their next governor is until well after the election. Craciun’s latest surveys show the race between Democrat Tony Knowles and Republican Sarah Palin will be extremely close, quite a contrast from research Craciun conducted after the August primary, which showed Palin with a wide lead. Today, Craciun says it’s a race where every vote will count.
At this Thursday’s Alaska Professional Communicators’ luncheon, find out what changed over the course of a few months and gain insights into public opinion research. Craciun is also tracking the congressional race between Don Young (R) and Diane Benson (D), as well as the natural gas tax issue.
As a sociologist, Jean Craciun has researched every issue critical to Alaskans over the past 20 years — from global warming to subsistence to the urban-rural divide. Her company also does extensive work in marketing.
In 1989, Craciun founded her own research company, Craciun Research Group. Focus group research is one of Craciun’s specialties. She’s also regarded as an expert in surveying Alaska Natives and other indigenous peoples.
